As part of the second Foresight-on-Demand (FoD) framework contract, 4strat continues to be actively involved in shaping future-oriented policy at the European level. The FoD consortium, led by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna, has been commissioned by the European Commission for several years to provide support in the field of science and technology programming. The goal is to jointly provide strategic foresight futures knowledge with 14 consortium partners and to build capacities for strategic work with futures in organizations and European institutions. With this work, the FoD consortium contributes—among other things—to the preparation and alignment of key strategic programs such as Horizon Europe.
"In doing so, we support various EU organizations in proactively addressing long-term challenges such as climate change, digitalization, or globalization and in developing strategies to address them," says Matthias Weber, Foresight-on-Demand Coordinator and Head of AIT Center for Innovation Systems & Policy.
The collaboration within the FoD consortium offers us the opportunity to contribute our expertise in platform-supported, evidence-based, and AI-driven foresight processes and to work together with strong partners for strategic foresight in Europe.
The FoD framework contract runs from April 2024 to March 2028. The official press release by the Austrian Institute of Technology can be viewed here: https://science.apa.at/power-search/13752395842189414447 (German only).
